Staffordshire Moorlands Launches New ‘To Thrive’ Business Grant Scheme

The recent ‘To Thrive’ business grant scheme announced by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and Staffordshire County Council, targets SMEs within the area who are looking to grow their businesses.

Funds between £2,000 and £5,000 will be available for covering costs relating to applying plans that will help achieve business growth. These plans may include:

  • Purchase of equipment or machinery which costs less than £10k
  • Website design including online payment facilities
  • Business Strategy Review
  • Computers / Laptops for new starters (only i.e if a new job has been created in the last 3 months or is going to be created imminently).

To meet eligibility for the grant scheme, your business must adhere to the following requirements:

  • Be based in Staffordshire Moorlands.
  • Have less than 250 full-time employees.
  • Have an annual turnover not exceeding 50 million euros and/or have an annual balance sheet total not exceeding 43 million euros.
  • Have been trading and registered with Companies House since before March 2022.
  • Looking to grow & anticipating an increase in turnover.
  • Your company can be trading B2C (Business to Consumer), and it doesn’t matter if you’ve already had funding before – you can still apply (subsidy control rules must be followed).
